Paltrinieri had a back and forth race before outlasting silver medalist <strong>Mykhailo Romanchuk<\/strong> of the Ukraine. Romanchuk fell off of Paltrinieri&#8217;s pace slowly but he hung on for a huge silver medal at 14:37.14. Australia&#8217;s <strong>Mack Horton<\/strong> won the bronze medal with a 14:47.70.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Gabriele Detti<\/strong> (14:52.07), Norway&#8217;s <strong>Henrik Christiansen<\/strong> (14:54.58), Ukraine&#8217;s <strong>Sergii Frolov<\/strong> (14:55.10), Poland&#8217;s <strong>Wojciech Wojdak<\/strong> (15:01.27) and the Czech Republic&#8217;s <strong>Jan Micka<\/strong> (15:09.28) also competed in the championship final.<\/p>\n<p>This is Paltrinieri&#8217;s third straight medal in this event at the World Championships as he won bronze in 2013 and gold in 2015.
