ANN ARBOR, Michigan, April 9. THE second evening of long course meter swimming went into the books at the Eric Namesnik Grand Prix held in Ann Arbor, Mich.<\/p>\n
Brazil went 1-2-3 in the men's 50 free with Cesar Cielo moving up to fourth in the rankings with a winning time of 22.08. Bruno Fratus touched second in 22.52, while Nicholas Santos tied Andrey Seryy for third with matching 22.54s.<\/p>\n
California's Natalie Coughlin jumped up to seventh in the rankings with a 1:00.04 in the women's 100 back. NBAC's Elizabeth Pelton finished second 1:00.67, while Brazil's Fabiola Molina placed third in 1:00.95. <\/p>\n
Club Wolverine's Wu Peng moved to eighth in the world rankings in the men's 200 fly with a winning 1:56.62. Gator's Marcin Cieslak placed second in 1:57.13, while FAST's Tyler Clary earned third in 1:57.56. NBAC's Michael Phelps finished a surprising fourth with a 1:57.79.<\/p>\n
Phelps followed with a winning time of 54.15 in the men's 100 back, while Daytona Beach's Ryan Lochte finished second in 54.81. Hershey's David Nolan completed the top three in 55.10. <\/p>\n
PASA's Jasmine Tosky claimed the women's 200 fly title in 2:11.11, while Kingfish's Madison Wright, 14, placed second in 2:12.21. California's Caitlin Leverenz rounded out the top three in 2:13.34. Leverenz followed in the women's 200 breast with a triumphant 2:30.37. FAST's Ariana Kukors touched second in 2:31.89, while Asphalt Green's Annie Zhu earned third in 2:32.16. <\/p>\n
FAST's Kara Lynn Joyce topped Brazil's Flavia Delaroli, 25.25 to 25.36, in the women's 50 free. Meanwhile, Dana Vollmer of California touched third in 25.45. FAST's Kate Ziegler won the women's 400 free in 4:07.78, while teammate Katie Hoff earned second in 4:08.23. Gator's Andreina Pinto wound up third in 4:15.81. <\/p>\n
FAST's Tyler Clary (3:51.57), Michael Klueh (3:52.01) and Charlie Houchin (3:52.81) swept the top three spots in the men's 400 free. In a surprising finish, Trojan's Ous Mellouli touched out Tucson Ford's Mike Alexandrov and Trojan's Markus Rogan, 2:15.36 to 2:15.84 and 2:15.92, for the men's 200 breast crown. <\/p>\n
In relay action, Asphalt Green's Danielle Sims, Isla Hutchinson-Maddox, Annie Zhu and Lia Neal won the women's 800 free relay in 8:31.20.
