Koga swam a mark of 25.54, and Lacourt came in at 24.58.<\/p>\n<p>Lacourt is the defending World Champion in the event, and he has already declared this World Championships to be his final meet.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Xu Jiayu<\/strong> edged out the USA&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matt Grevers<\/strong>\u00a0by four hundredths<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>for gold in the men&#8217;s 100 back, and the two were even closer in prelims, tying for third in 24.78.
