GENEVA, Switzerland, April 1. THE second day of swimming at the Swedish long course championship witnessed more world-class swims.<\/p>\n
Dominik Meichtry posted a dominating win in the 200 freestyle today. The 2008 Olympic finalist in this event, Meichtry swam a 1:47.93 for the fifth-fastest time of the year. Well back in second was David Karasek with a 1:51.58, and Simon Rabold was third in 1:53.16.<\/p>\n
Maria Ugolkova took the women's 200 free in 2:03.63, just ahead of Stephanie Eisenring's 2:03.67. Julia Hassler rounded out the top three in 2:04.69.<\/p>\n
Flori Lang won the men's 50 backstroke in 25.57, with Jonathan Massacand second in 26.37. Third place went to Adrien Perez in 26.41.<\/p>\n
Laetitia Perez won the women's 50 back with a 29.57, touching out Ivan Gabrilo, who was second with a 29.69. Melanie Schweiger was third with a 29.99.<\/p>\n
Stephanie Spahn won the women's 100 breast final in 1:11.90. Jennifer Bovay used a powerful final 50 to almost catch Spahn, but got to the wall second in 1:12.04. Third place went to Stefanie Senn with a 1:13.36.<\/p>\n
Alexandre Liess won the men's 200 butterfly with a 2:00.29, well ahead of Nico Van Duijn's second-place time of 2:02.22. Third place went to Simon Rabold with a 2:03.95.<\/p>\n
Martina van Berkel won the women's 200 fly in 2:11.21, just off her national mark of 2:10.36. Placing second was Annick van Westendorp with a 2:23.50. Third place went to Benedetta Cena with a 2:23.69.<\/p>\n
