It wasn&#8217;t Phelps or Lochte but it was an American in <strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong> winning the 200 IM final on Thursday night in Budapest with a 1:55.56 for the eighth straight gold medal for the United States in the 200 IM at Worlds. Kalisz held off <strong>Kosuke Hagino<\/strong> of Japan for the gold medal as Hagino finished with a 1:56.01.<\/p>\n<p>The bronze went to China&#8217;s <strong>Wang Shun<\/strong> as he was the only swimmer to break 28 on the last 50. Wang swam a 1:56.28. Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Max Litchfield<\/strong> (1:56.86), Japan&#8217;s <strong>Daiya Seto<\/strong> (1:56.97), China&#8217;s <strong>Qin Haiyang<\/strong> (1:57.06), Germany&#8217;s <strong>Philip Heintz<\/strong> (1:57.43) and Switzerland&#8217;s <strong>Jeremy Desplanches<\/strong> (1:57.50) also competed in the final.<\/p>\n<p>The time for Qin is a new World Junior Record as he broke his record from semi-finals that was a 1:57.81.
