With only ten teams entered, there will be only one heat in the event, with the top eight teams returning for finals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/women-800-free-relay-prelims.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Click here to view the lineups.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The United States has opted to rest 200 free finalists\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Leah Smith<\/strong>, along with 100 free participants\u00a0<strong>Mallory Comerford\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Simone Manuel<\/strong>. The prelims team will consist of\u00a0<strong>Melanie Margalis<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Cierra Runge<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Madisyn Cox\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Hali Flickinger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear who the Americans plan to insert into the finals lineup, although Ledecky and Smith can be considered locks.<\/p>\n<p>Australia will rest\u00a0<strong>Emma McKeon<\/strong>, who tied for silver with Ledecky in the 200 free, while\u00a0<strong>Li Bingjie\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Ai Yanhan<\/strong> sit out for China.
