TEXAS&#39; Michael McBroom raced to victory in the men&#39;s 1650-yard freestyle at the NCAA Division I Men&#39;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>McBroom clocked a winning time of 14:32.86 to move up to ninth all time in the performers list, while his time stands 14th on the performances list.  He also stands as the first Texas Longhorn to ever win the event.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia&#39;s Martin Grodzki and Stanford&#39;s Chad La Tourette tied for second with matching 14:34.80s, while Virginia&#39;s Matt McLean placed fourth in 14:39.62.  <\/p>\n<p>North Carolina&#39;s Joe Kinderwater (14:42.64), Auburn&#39;s Zane Grothe (14:47.09), Michigan&#39;s Sean Ryan (14:48.68) and Texas&#39; Jackson Wilcox (14:48.69) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<p>California remained in the lead with 352 points after the mile, while Texas stood second with 319.5 points.
