Dressel delivered a final time of 47.26 to lower the previous American Record of 47.33, set in 2009 by\u00a0Dave\u00a0<\/strong>Walters<\/b>.<\/p>\n The momentum continued for Team USA as\u00a0Townley Haas\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Blake Pieroni<\/strong> continued to hold their own against a charging Team Brazil. The race came down to anchors\u00a0Nathan Adrian<\/strong> and\u00a0Bruno Fratus<\/strong> as the two powered stroke-by-stroke through the final 100 meters.
