His time of 58.21, while well off his own world record, was faster than anyone else has ever swum.<\/p>\n<p>United States swimmers finished in the next two spots going into the semi-finals as\u00a0<strong>Cody Miller\u00a0<\/strong>qualified in 59.14 and\u00a0<strong>Kevin Cordes\u00a0<\/strong>in 59.15. Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joao Gomes<\/strong> was fourth in 59.24.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Nicolo Martinenghi\u00a0<\/strong>took fifth in 59.33, but the time was not a Junior World Record, as was listed. He was slightly quicker last month with a 59.23.
