That allowed NBC to air the races live to a prime time audience in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The swimming finals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio were also moved up to accommodate U.S. television interests. Prelims in Rio began at 1 p.m. local time and finals at 10 p.m., meaning that finals could be televised at 9 p.m. ET in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p><em>Read the full report from Asahi <a
