Peroni swims for Ohio State Swim Club.\u00a0The rising senior at Olentangy Liberty High School is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.<\/p>\n<p>In her Twitter announcement Peroni said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;So excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at Duke University! I can&#8217;t wait to be a part of such an amazing team! Go Blue Devils&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Peroni is primarily a butterflier with best SCY times of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 Fly 24.88<\/li>\n<li>100 Fly 54.68<\/li>\n<li>200 Fly 2:01.30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With still over a year to go until her collegiate debut, Peroni is just two tenths shy of ACC scoring in the 100 butterfly. She&#8217;s also just a half second outside of what it took to make the 2017 200 fly C final.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/high-school-junior-melissa-pish-verbally-commits-to-duke\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Melissa Pish<\/strong><\/a>, one of the first members of the high school Class of 2018 to give a verbal commitment, has also announced her intent to swim for the Blue Devils.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NEW COMMIT:\u00a0Ohio&#8217;s\u00a0Rachel Peroni\u00a0has given her verbal commitment to swim for Duke University beginning in the fall of 2018.
