After finishing preliminaries in the top spot, the women held onto their gold medal standing through every round of competition. The team did not receive a single mark from the judges lower than\u00a0a 7. Additionally, they received 9s from the judges in four out of the five rounds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jennifer Abel<\/strong> and <strong>Melissa Citrini Beaulieu<\/strong>\u00a0of Canada followed less than 10 points behind them, earning them a silver medal. They competed many of the same dives that the Chinese team did, and similarly received no score lower than a 7. The Canadians gave the world an incredible performance, and have shown their ability to challenge China&#8217;s diving program.<\/p>\n<p>With an equally difficult list as the top two teams, Russian women <strong>Kristina Ilinykh<\/strong> and <strong>Nadezhda Bazhina<\/strong> earned themselves a bronze medal.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese men, <strong>Chen Aisen<\/strong> and <strong>Yang Hao<\/strong> also won a gold today. Incredibly, they received 10s from the judges in all but one round. Their performance seemed\u00a0as close to perfection as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The team racked up 498.48 points overall, finishing 40 points ahead of the second place. After\u00a0the first two rounds of voluntary divers, the team had near\u00a0perfect scores.\u00a0In the following four rounds, each of the their dives scored over 93 points.<\/p>\n<p>The team secures their win with their final dive, a back two and a half with two and a half twists (5255B). The pair received 9.5s and 10s from the judges, and earned 99.36 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aleksandr Bondar<\/strong> and <strong>Viktor Minibaev\u00a0<\/strong>from Russia finished in the silver medal position. The duo showed off their strong and difficult list beautifully, earning more than 82 points on all of their optionals. They held on to their second place standing throughout the entire completion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patrick Hausding<\/strong> and <strong>Sascha Klein<\/strong> of Germany are headed home with a bonze medal.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow&#8217;s events include Women&#8217;s individual ten meter, and the first team event of the meet.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s diving events in Budapest included women&#8217;s synchronized three meter and men&#8217;s synchronized ten meter.
