One day after TYR Sport announced the signing of\u00a0Leah Smith<\/strong><\/a>, the company added\u00a0Michael Chadwick\u00a0<\/strong>to its stable of U.S. professional swimmers.<\/p>\n

Chadwick won four medals on relays at the Short Course World Championships in December, and he made his first major international team last month when he finished fifth in the 100 free at U.S. Nationals, qualifying to swim the 400 free relay at the World Championships.<\/p>\n

Chadwick recently completed his NCAA career at Missouri, and he finished second in the 100-yard free at the NCAA championships as a senior.<\/p>\n

With major performances for the University of Missouri under his belt, Chadwick has proven to the swimming world he certainly is one to watch. Accumulating a total of\u00a022 All-American honors with 11 first-team and 11 honorable mentions, Michael\u00a0is currently the most decorated athlete\u00a0in the history of the Missouri swimming program.\u00a0At the culmination of his collegiate career,\u00a0he owned team records in the 50, 100 and 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard IM, and is ranked third all-time in the 100 yard breaststroke.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chadwick has shown consistent improvement and really began making a name for himself in 2015 after placing fourth in the 50m free at Summer Nationals which earned him a spot on the national team. Later that year as part of the 400-meter freestyle relay, he contributed to a new American Record at the 2015 Duel in the Pool. At\u00a0the 2016 FINA World Short Course Championships,\u00a0Michael earned one gold, two silvers and a bronze medal\u00a0in Windsor, Canada as part of four relay teams.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chadwick will remain a key relay player on the U.S. Team at the 2017 FINA World Championships after securing a spot on the 4\u00d7100-meter freestyle relay with his 5th place finish in the 100-meter freestyle at the 2017 Summer Nationals. His performances at the meet also earned Chadwick an opportunity to compete in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle events at the World University Games held at the end of August.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, Chadwick joins a growing roster of standout swimmers including\u00a012x Olympic medalist\u00a0Ryan<\/strong> Lochte<\/strong>,\u00a07x Olympic medalist Dana Vollmer<\/strong> and 6x Olympic medalist Matt<\/strong> Grevers<\/strong>. To date team TYR has earned a total of 32 Olympic and 152 World Championship medals.<\/span><\/p>\n
