UPPSALA, Sweden, February 13. THE second of two days of long course meter competition concluded at the Swedish Grand Prix stop in Uppsala with some world-class times going into the rankings.<\/p>\n
Sarah Sjostrom improved to third in the world with a 26.41 in the women's 50 fly. That swim put her behind only Therese Alshammar (25.88) and Melanie Henique (26.33). Meanwhile, Marleen Veldhuis took second in 26.53 for a top five time, while Ranomi Kromowidjojo touched third in 27.17. <\/p>\n
Jennie Johansson moved into the top 10 in the early world rankings with a 31.86 in the women's 50 breast. Sandra Olofsson finished second in 33.21, while Magdalena Kuras earned third in 33.62. Johannson doubled up with a 2:30.31 to win the women's 200 breast. Elin Martensson (2:32.61) and Sara Thyden (2:32.80) comprised the rest of the podium. <\/p>\n
Martina Granstrom also jumped into the top 10 with a 2:10.92 to win the women's 200 fly. Ida Marko-Varga took second in 2:12.43, while Petra Granlund wound up third in 2:15.41. <\/p>\n
Simon Sjodin followed up with a top 10 time of his own in the men's 200 IM when he clocked a 2:02.06 for the win. Johan Johansson took second in 2:09.06, while Anton Andresson placed third in 2:10.18. <\/p>\n
Petter Stymne vaulted into the top 10 rankings in the men's 50 free with a 22.55, while Stefan Nystrand joined him with a second-place 22.58. Ioannis Kalargaris finished third in 22.99. <\/p>\n
Kromowidjojo claimed the women's 100 free in 55.09, while Sjostrom took second in 55.23. Veldhuis clocked in at third with a 55.37. Sara Thyden topped the women's 400 IM in 4:48.84. Ida Sandin (5:00.12) and Beatrice Andersson (5:05.87) completed the top three.<\/p>\n
Theodora Drakou secured the women's 100 back title in 1:03.25 with Ida Lindborg taking second in 1:03.78. Ilse Kraayeveld finished third in 1:04.92. Gabriella Fagundez took home the women's 400 free in 4:19.00. Madelene Andersson (4:34.70) and Erica Sjoholm (4:38.53) finished second and third. <\/p>\n
Jesper Jonsson won the men's 200 free in 1:53.73 with Oscar Ekstrom taking second in 1:54.77. Jurjen Willemsen snagged third in 1:55.63. Johan Johansson took the men's 100 breast crown in 1:04.63. Gulliver Koch (1:05.37) and Andreas Furst (1:06.36) placed second and third.<\/p>\n
Robin Andreasson hit the wall in 57.51 to win the men's 100 fly. Viktor Bjork (58.48) and Bjorn Sundin (58.65) finished second and third. Bastiaan Lijesen cruised to victory in the men's 50 back with a 25.86, while Pontus Renholm took second in 26.96. Martin Nilsson placed third in 27.79. <\/p>\n
Mattias Carlsson won the men's 200 back going away with a 2:01.66. Jurjen Williemsen (2:07.13) and Niklas Gustafsson (2:08.00) finished second and third.
