NEW COMMIT: Anya Goeders<\/strong> has verbally committed to swim for Stanford University, according to her CollegeSwimming.com profile. The Lowell, Indiana native, who will graduate next spring in 2018, has turned heads for a while, not just for repeatedly being one of the youngest sprint freestylers on swimming\u2019s largest stages, but for dropping big times without a kneeskin.<\/p>\n

At last week\u2019s World Championship Trials she won the C final of the 50 freestyle.\u00a0At the\u00a02014 US Nationals<\/a>\u00a0meet Goeders was the youngest competitor, then just 13 years old. Last summer she raced her way into the semifinals of the 50 freestyle at Olympic Trials. Ultimately her results at that meet earned her a trip to Junior Pan Pacs in Maui where she won the 50 freestyle, just .05 shy of Simone Manuel<\/strong>\u2019s National Age Group record.<\/p>\n

Goeders\u00a0trains with Mako Swim Team and doesn\u2019t swim for her high school.<\/p>\n
