Cal men’s coach\u00a0Dave Durden\u00a0<\/strong>will serve as head coach of the U.S. men’s team this summer at the World Championships. After the<\/p>\n

final day of prelims at U.S. Nationals, Durden reacted to the team that had been put together.<\/p>\n

Durden discussed how the men’s team will miss the presence of\u00a0Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Ryan Lochte<\/strong> but also how other swimmers are growing into new roles, including the increasingly-versatile\u00a0Caeleb Dressel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Durden also previewed some of the biggest challenges the Worlds team will face, broke down some of the team’s strengths and weaknesses and explained what lessons about relay planning her learned from serving as head coach of the Worlds team in 2015.<\/p>\n
