In addition she set a new U.S. Open record, her first major record. Baker has been riding a wave of momentum since Rio, and she feels that everything just clicked for her at the Olympics.<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Kathleen Baker 100 back USA Nationals\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tDZ2Mpawh5k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong>Olivia Smoliga<\/strong> has qualified for Worlds after finishing second to Baker in the 100 backstroke. After slipping on her start yesterday in the 50 backstroke and failing to make the final, Smoliga was nervous coming into today.
