Ledecky won the event in 1:54.84, lowering her own world&#8217;s best for the year. Smith finished second in 1:56.68.\u00a0Both swimmers will also represent Team USA in the 800 free next month in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p>Ledecky said that she felt good during the 200 free\u00a0and\u00a0notes that she is becoming more confident in\u00a0swimming the event. The five-time Olympic gold medalist knows this race will be challenging in Budapest but is pleased that she has posted\u00a0consistently fast\u00a0times throughout the season.<\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Katie Ledecky 200 free USA Nationals\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AAckspkzp7E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Smith knew she has been\u00a0having a good season and is happy\u00a0to be able to represent the United States in another individual and relay event.
