SAN LUIS OBISPO, California, January 28. CAL Poly, swimming and diving for the first time in more than six weeks, defeated Pacific on the men's side and swept Pacific and UC Davis on the women's side in a three-team double dual meet Friday afternoon at the Anderson Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n
Konrad Antoniuk, Chase Nick, Peter Kline, Curtis Lin and Toby Reaper all won two events to lead the Mustang men to a 204-76 win over Pacific.<\/p>\n
Lacey Buck and Sami McIntyre each won a pair of events as the Mustang women's team defeated Pacific 240-54 and UC Davis 157-143.<\/p>\n
No school records were broken Friday, but the Mustang men won 15 of the 18 events while the women's squad won eight of 18 events.<\/p>\n
Antoniuk won the 500 (4:40.43) and 1,000 freestyle events (9:34.02) while Kline claimed the 100 (51.27) and 200 backstroke events (1:52.33).<\/p>\n
Nick touched the wall first in both the 100 (46.68) and 200 freestyle events (1:40.61) while Lin captured the 100 (51.75) and 200 butterfly events (1:55.20). Tony Reaper was the only men's diver, taking the one-meter (235.72) and three-meter events (303.90).<\/p>\n
Other Mustang winners in men's events were J. Carter Richards in the 100 breaststroke (58.73), Kyle Polednik in the 50 freestyle (21.77) and Josh Cutts in the 200 breaststroke (2:06.83). Cal Poly also won the 200 medley (1:33.18) and 400 freestyle relays (3:10.08).<\/p>\n
On the women's side, Buck (pictured above) placed first in both the 500 (4:59.75) and 1,000 freestyle events (10:17.85) while McIntyre swept the diving events with scores of 258.60 off the one-meter board and 279.37 off the three-meter board.<\/p>\n
Other Mustang winners in women's events include Amanda Maffris in the 200 Butterfly (2:05.23), Amy Morales in the 50 freestyle (24.21) and Gloria Benefield in the 100 butterfly (58.06). Cal Poly also win the 400 freestyle relay (3:30.52).<\/p>\n
Cal Poly returns to action Feb. 12 with an 11 a.m. dual meet against UC Santa Barbara in the Anderson Aquatic Center pool.<\/p>\n
