Heat sheets are available for the first night of finals down below. Olympians <strong>Hali Flickinger<\/strong>, <strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong>, <strong>Simone Manuel<\/strong>, <strong>Nathan Adrian<\/strong> and <strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> are all in action as well as a number of other swimmers searching for their first long course national team. <strong>Zach Apple<\/strong>, <strong>Mallory Comerford<\/strong> and <strong>Dakota Luther<\/strong> are in good position to make their first long course national teams after solid swims this morning.<\/p>\n<p>The 200 fly, 100 free and the original Olympic distance events will be contested on Tuesday night at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/results\/2017-usa-swimming-nationals-world-trials-day-1-finals-heat-sheet-day-1\/usa-senior-national\/2017\/June\/27\" target=\"_blank\">2017 USA Swimming Nationals &#8211; World Trials Day 1 Finals Heat Sheet &#8211; Results<\/a><\/p>\n<p>While there are many well-known names listed to swim tonight, there are also several well-known names\u00a0<em>not<\/em> listed. Many of Team USA&#8217;s veteran men have elected not to swim in the 100 free after not qualifying for the &#8216;A&#8217; final. Those names include\u00a0<strong>Matt Grevers<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Cullen Jones<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Conor Dwyer<\/strong>. Also scratching out of the 100 free was Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jacob Pebley<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tom Shields<\/strong>, a 2016 Olympian, missed out on the &#8216;A&#8217; final in prelims and has now scratched out of the &#8216;B&#8217; final. Shields will rest up for his best event, the 100 fly.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Michigan&#8217;s top female distance swimmer,\u00a0<strong>G Ryan<\/strong>, will no longer be swimming in the fastest heat of the women&#8217;s 800 free, shifting Purdue&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kaersten Meitz<\/strong> up into the top eight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first night of finals will go off from Indianapolis on Tuesday night with six events with World Championship berths at stake.
