THE second day of long course meter action at the French International Meet held in Nancy produced a few more early world bests.<\/p>\n<p>With the year less than a month old, Camille Lacourt (53.45) and Jeremy Stravius (53.78) posted the top two times in the world in the men&#39;s 100 back so far. Michael Phelps has clocked the early top marker with a 54.14 at the Austin Grand Prix. Joris Hustache finished third today in 55.97. <\/p>\n<p>Stravius returned in the men&#39;s 200 free with an early world-best of 1:48.11. That swim clipped the 1:48.65 clocked by Takeshi Matsuda in Japan. Gregory Mallet (1:51.12) and Guillaume Strohmeyer (1:51.46) took second and third. French record holder Yannick Agnel failed to make the A finale, and wound up winning the B heat in 1:51.37. <\/p>\n<p>Camille Muffat set the world pace in the women&#39;s 200 free with a 1:58.00, while Femke Heemskerk placed second in 1:58.27. Both swims cleared the early trendsetter of 1:58.69 turned in by Katie Hoff at the Austin Grand Prix. Mylene Lazare rounded out the podium today in 2:00.85. <\/p>\n<p>Ophelie Aspord topped the women&#39;s 800 free in 8:47.14, while Aurelie Muller took second in 8:52.16. Roxane Desfontaines picked up third-place honors in 9:01.84. Sebastien Rouault followed with a 7:59.75 for the men&#39;s 800 free victory.  Damien Joly claimed second in 8:09.82, while Sebastien Fraysse rounded out the top three in 8:10.35. <\/p>\n<p>Kimberly Vandenberg cruised to the women&#39;s 200 fly crown in 2:10.03 with Magali Rousseau finishing a distant second in 2:15.87. Elodie Delamare wound up third in 2:19.89. Christophe Lebon earned the men&#39;s 200 fly title in 2:02.04.  Romain Sassot (2:03.46) and Mathieu Fonteyn (2:04.11) placed second and third. <\/p>\n<p>Coralie Balmy snatched the women&#39;s 400 IM title in 4:50.39. Fantine Lesaffre finished second in 4:56.08, while Camille Amardeilh placed third in 4:57.54. Arnaud Rondan wound up with the men&#39;s 400 IM triumph in 4:28.27. He touched out Quentin Coton, who placed second in 4:28.51. Xavier Lepretre earned third in 4:34.47. <\/p>\n<p>Cloe Credeville won the women&#39;s 100 back in 1:01.98. Alexandra Putra turned in a second-place 1:02.63, while Marie Jugnet captured third in 1:04.09. Claire Polit claimed the women&#39;s 50 breast in 33.50. Andrea Baudry (33.66) and Oceane Martin (33.94) rounded out the top three. <\/p>\n<p>Hugues Duboscq closed out the evening with a winning 28.30 in the men&#39;s 50 breast.
