{"id":262018,"date":"2017-06-22T16:34:09","date_gmt":"2017-06-22T23:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=262018"},"modified":"2017-08-16T12:05:46","modified_gmt":"2017-08-16T19:05:46","slug":"becca-mann-leads-u-s-open-water-squad-for-world-university-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/becca-mann-leads-u-s-open-water-squad-for-world-university-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Becca Mann Leads U.S. Open Water Squad for World University Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four swimmers have been selected represent Team USA in the 10-kilometer open water event at the 2017 World University Games, USA Swimming announced today.<\/p>\n<p>The roster includes <strong>Becca Mann<\/strong> (Homer Glenn, Ill.\/Trojan Swim Club), <strong>Katy Campbell<\/strong> (Federal Way, Wash.\/Team Santa Monica), <strong>David Heron<\/strong> (Mission Viejo, Calif.\/University of Tennessee) and <strong>Taylor Abbott <\/strong>(Cedar Park, Texas\/University of Tennessee).<\/p>\n<p>The team was selected based on the results of the USA Swimming Open Water National Championships held at Castaic Lake, California.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 World University Games will hold the 10K open water race on <span data-term=\"goog_626165258\">Saturday, August 27<\/span>, at the New Taipei City Breeze Canal in Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this event, Heron and Mann will also represent Team USA at the 2017 FINA World Championships from <span data-term=\"goog_626165259\">July 15-16<\/span>and <span data-term=\"goog_626165260\">July 18-21<\/span> at Lake Balaton outside Budapest.
