{"id":261200,"date":"2017-06-23T08:50:51","date_gmt":"2017-06-23T15:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=261200"},"modified":"2017-06-23T09:02:42","modified_gmt":"2017-06-23T16:02:42","slug":"wright-state-at-41-of-85000-fundraising-goal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/wright-state-at-41-of-85000-fundraising-goal\/","title":{"rendered":"Wright State at $54,640 of $85,000 Fundraising Goal With 7 Days Left"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier in June <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/wright-state-announces-fundraising-plan-to-save-swim-teams\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wright State announced fundraising plans<\/a> in an effort to keep the swimming and diving teams for the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n<p>The fundraising group was charged to raise $85,000 by June 30, and have since raised a total of $54,640 in donations with two weeks left until the deadline.<\/p>\n<p>All donations are being held and monitored by the CSCA with the promise that if the $85,000 goal is not reached all donations will be returned to the donors.<\/p>\n<p>Once the $85,000 goal is reached, the CSCAA will transfer $76,500 to Wright State to preserve the swimming and diving program. The remaining $8,500 will be placed in an external foundation to help preserve the Wright State swimming and diving programs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/wright-state-university-cuts-swimming-as-cost-cutting-measure\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wright State had\u00a0announced the programs would be cut back in May<\/a>\u00a0\u201ceffective immediately\u201d as a way to save roughly $500,000 in annual expenses. This was shortly following the termination of the swimming and diving program at University of North Dakota and the men\u2019s swimming and diving program at the University of Buffalo.<\/p>\n<p>You can donate to help save the Wright State University Swimming and Diving programs by donating on the CSCAA website\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cscaa.org\/savewrightstate\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.
