She won the 400 individual medley short course national championship in 2016, while also finishing second in the 200 breaststroke and third in the 200 IM.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are extremely excited to add a swimmer of Calypso&#8217;s caliber to our Class of 2021,&#8221; Steketee said. &#8220;It&#8217;s very important that we add the right people to our Northwestern family and Calypso undoubtedly fits that mold. As an Australian National Champion, she will bring a high-level of experience and competition to our pool daily. We are thrilled to help her take the next steps as she chases her dreams in the pool, classroom and life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As a member of the Australian Junior National Team in 2015, she advanced to the semifinals of the 100 breaststroke at the Junior World Championships and won a gold medal in the 400 IM at the Commonwealth Youth Games, while at the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games, she finished second in the 200 IM and third in the 200 backstroke.
