Sjostrom continued to add to her impressive 2017 with three wins in under an hour, all in meet record times and just off her world-leading swims from earlier this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"oembed-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LumaLanes Performance of the Week -- June 13, 2017 -- Sarah Sjostrom\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/s_YG-PN6Hag?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sjostrom started the evening finals session with a win in the 100 free over defending World Champion <\/span><b>Bronte Campbell <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and world record-holder <\/span><b>Cate Campbell<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Sjostrom touched in 52.60, just a few hundredths off of her No. 1 time in the event for this year and just outside the top-10 performances of all time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She followed that up with a win the 50 butterfly, diving in roughly 15 minutes later to win in 24.90, the fastest time in the world this year. She finished her session nearly 25 minutes later by winning the 50 free in 23.95, again beating out defending World Champion Bronte Campbell and missing her personal best and No. 1 time in the world by about a tenth. For good measure, Sjostrom also threw down a 56.20 100 butterfly on the first night of the competition, which is the fastest time in the world this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This continues Sjostrom\u2019s incredible year of racing following the 2016 Rio Olympics. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sarah-sjostrom-to-skip-200-free-at-world-champs\/\" target=\"_blank\">While she is choosing to forego the 200 freestyle at these upcoming World Championships<\/a>, all signs indicate Sjostrom to be the favorite for gold in her four sprint events with the ability to realistically challenge the world record in any of them this
