During night two finals at the Texas Senior Circuit meet in College Station,\u00a0Townley Haas\u00a0<\/strong>posted the top time by an American so far this year in the men’s 200 free while\u00a0Joseph Schooling\u00a0<\/strong>won his first long course 100 fly since winning Olympic gold in Rio.<\/p>\n

Haas’ time of 1:47.86 doesn’t even crack the top 30 in the world this year, but he does move past\u00a0Blake Pieroni\u00a0<\/strong>(1:48.14) as the fastest American so far this year. Haas’ Longhorn teammate\u00a0Jack Conger\u00a0<\/strong>was second in the race in 1:48.84, while Tidewater’s\u00a0Patrick Callan<\/strong> took third in 1:49.47.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 100 fly, Longhorn’s Schooling won in 51.82, good for seventh in the world rankings. Teammate\u00a0Bryce Bohman\u00a0<\/strong>followed in 54.33, two tenths ahead of Aggie’s\u00a0Turker Ayar\u00a0<\/strong>(54.53).<\/p>\n

Longhorn’s\u00a0Andrew Wilson<\/strong> dominated the men’s 100 breast, coming in at 1:00.73. That’s just a few tenths off his season best of 1:00.45 from last month that ranks him third among Americans this year. Longhorn’s\u00a0Casey Melzer\u00a0<\/strong>(1:03.11) and Rockwall’s\u00a0Jared Butler\u00a0<\/strong>(1:04.68) finished second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n

Aggie’s\u00a0Sarah Gibson\u00a0<\/strong>cruised to victory in the women’s 100 fly, touching in 58.68. Magnolia’s\u00a0Lille Nordmann<\/strong> took second in 1:01.14, ahead of teammate\u00a0Emily Reese\u00a0<\/strong>(1:02.36).<\/p>\n

Aggie’s\u00a0Sydney Pickrem\u00a0<\/strong>took first in the women’s 400 IM in 4:42.39, about seven seconds off her world No. 5-ranked time of 4:35.43. Pickrem will represent Canada in the event this summer at the FINA World Championships. Metro’s\u00a0Vanessa Pearl\u00a0<\/strong>claimed second in 4:44.87, and third went to Aggie’s\u00a0Bethany Galat\u00a0<\/strong>in 4:51.95.<\/p>\n

The Texas A&M duo of\u00a0Jorie Caneta<\/strong> and\u00a0Ashley McGregor\u00a0<\/strong>finished 1-2 in the women’s 100 breast, with Caneta touching in 1:08.41 and McGregor finishing just behind in 1:09.72.\u00a0Pearl\u00a0<\/strong>claimed third place in 1:10.90.<\/p>\n

After winning two events on day one, Aggie’s\u00a0Claire Rasmus\u00a0<\/strong>picked up her third win of the meet in the women’s 200 free, touching in 2:00.63. Gibson was second in 2:01.55, and Austin Swim Club’s\u00a0Diana Dunn<\/strong> was third in 2:02.16.<\/p>\n

Aggie’s\u00a0Lisa Bratton<\/strong> won the women’s 50 back in 28.99, while Aggie’s\u00a0Julia Cook\u00a0<\/strong>touched out Magnolia’s\u00a0Lucie Nordmann\u00a0<\/strong>for second, 29.33 to 29.34.<\/p>\n

Aggie’s\u00a0Brock Bonetti\u00a0<\/strong>won the men’s 50 back in 26.33, narrowly edging out Bohman, who came in at 26.36. Aggie’s\u00a0Duncan Mulleady\u00a0<\/strong>took third in 27.30.<\/p>\n

Longhorn’s\u00a0Sam Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the night with a win in the men’s 400 IM, touching in 4:26.80. Aggie’s\u00a0Austin Van Overdam\u00a0<\/strong>(4:33.92) and North Texas Nadadores’\u00a0Colter Carman<\/strong> (4:36.46) finished second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n
