THE Canada Cup continued Saturday with four more short course meter meet records set throughout the day. Meanwhile, two swimmers, Island's Julia Wilkinson and Toronto's Tobias Oriwol, both won two races during the second of three nights of competition in Toronto.

Wilkinson broke the meet record in the women's 100 back this morning, posting a 59.52. In the finale, Wilkinson edged DS's Sinead Russell for the win, 59.16 to 59.28, both breaking Wilkinson's prelim meet record. Both times placed them just shy of the top-25 in the world. Meanwhile, Canadian record-holder Katy Murdoch put up a third-place time of 59.84. Wilkinson returned less than an hour later to win the women's 200 IM. She clocked 2:11.51, squeezing her into the top 25. Wilkinson's teammate Alexa Komarnycky touched out Toronto's Page Schultz for second, 2:12.13 to 2:12.25.

Oriwol won the men's 100 back, adding to his win in the 200 back on Friday. Oriwol checked in at 53.36, defeating his closest competition by half a second; PPO's Charles Francis took second in 53.94, while UBC Dolphins' Brian Johns grabbed third in 54.26. Oriwol returned soon after for a second win for the session, in the men's 200 IM. He posted a 1:59.10, narrowly defeating 1:59.30. Meanwhile, UT's Zach Summerhayes and Etobicoke's Gleb Suvorov posted matching times of 2:01.91 to tie for third.

PPO's Victoria Poon returned from her double on Friday night to win the women's 50 free. Already the 100 free and 50 fly champion, Poon posted a meet record time of 24.79, besting Sam Woodward's 24.99 set in 2008. Poon moved into the world top-20 with the swim. Her teammate Sanrine Mainville beat Whitby's Jen Beckberger for second place by one one-hundredth of a second, 25.19 to 25.20.

Trinidadian Olympian George Bovell set a meet record of 21.84 in the men's 50 free prelims, which left him hundredths shy of the world top-25. He returned for the finale, which he won in 21.85, just off his meet record and just shy of a top-25 time. With the win, Bovell added to his win in the 50 free on Friday night. Trinidad went 1-2 in the race, as Joshua Mc Leod claimed second in 22.34. KSC's David Hibberd took third in 22.57.

Toronto's Warren Barnes touched out UBC Dolphins' Scott Dickens to set a meet record in the men's 50 breast. Barnes won in at 27.74, beating Friday's 100 champion Dickens, who finished second in 27.75. Both broke Barnes' old meet record of 27.86. SF's Andrew Poznikoff grabbed third in 28.02. Oak's Zach Chetrat held off Island's Stefan Hirniak to take the men's 200 fly, both beating a second meet record for the night. Chetrat won in 1:56.46, ahead of Hirniak's 1:56.80. Both times eclipsed Chetrat's old record of 1:57.60 from 2009 but fell well short of Hirniak's Canadian record of 1:53.43, also from last year. Pointe-Claire's Tim Ruse finished in third at 1:59.67.

Etobicoke's Amanda Reason narrowly beat Pointe-Claire's Ashley McGregor in the women's 50 breast. Reason checked in at 30.84, nearly a second shy of her Canadian record of 29.96, while McGregor posted a 30.89. Both swimmers moved into the world top-15 with the times. OAK's Teri Van Beilen came in third at 31.22. PPO's Audrey Lacroix used a strong back half to capture the women's 200 fly title. Lacroix won in 2:07.21, four seconds off her Canadian record of 2:03.20. Her time is among the world top-20. Early leader MacKenzie Downing settled for second in 2:08.43, also a top-25 time, while CSQ's Katerine Savard took third in 2:09.90, rounding out the sub-2:10 swims.

Komarnycky grabbed the women's 400 free in 4:05.72, another top-25 time. Komarnycky came up just shy of Kate Dwelley's 2008 meet record of 4:05.09. Pointe-Claire's Samantha Cheverton (4:07.65) and Etobicoke's Susana Escobar (4:10.18) completed the top three finishers. UCSC's Ray Betuzzi pulled away from tight competition to win the men's 400 free. Betuzzi won in 3:48.43, defeating Island's Blake Worsley (3:49.05) and HAC's Frank Despond (3:49.31).

Etobicoke swept the 800 free relays, as Brittany MacLean, Jacqueline Keire, Reason, and Lauren Earp won women's relay in 7:59.88, while Hassaan Abdel-Khalik, Wil Wright, Franco Petrone, and Omar Arafa posted a 7:23.89 to claim the men's relay.

By David Rieder TORONTO, Canada, November 27.
