The Fishers Area Swimming Tigers (FAST) of Indiana are gearing up for a new season with a new head coach at the reigns.\u00a0Joe Keller<\/strong> was recently announced as the head coach and competitive swimming program director of FAST, in addition to being named head coach of the boys and girls swim teams at Fishers High School.<\/p>\n

He is slated to begin on July 1st, 2017.<\/p>\n

The new coach explained to\u00a0Current in Fishers<\/em>, a local news outlet in Indiana, that,<\/p>\n

“It’s [FAST] really established, but there is a lot of work to be done to advance. Carmel Swim Club has a really rich, deep history of success. Any given year, they are one of the top 20 swim clubs in the United States. Ultimately, I think it’s just a matter of time before we help Fishers get to that level.”<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

However, Keller isn’t currently setting any timelines for the club, noting,<\/p>\n

“The club is really still in it’s infancy, but it’s advancing quickly. The area, the resources, the population base – all of those things are here. It’s just making sure we create some real stability administratively, and with the coaching staff so that we can allow that process to move along as the athletes move along.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Keller joins the team with a wealth of experience having coached with the Northridge Area Swimming Association and Northridge High School for over 25 years. While at Northridge he collected 29 sectional championships, was named Coach of the Year multiple times, and his athletes collected multiple athletic and academic honors.<\/p>\n
