{"id":258057,"date":"2017-05-29T10:06:44","date_gmt":"2017-05-29T17:06:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=258057"},"modified":"2017-05-29T10:06:44","modified_gmt":"2017-05-29T17:06:44","slug":"four-nations-share-gold-in-madrid-stop-of-2017-fina-diving-grand-prix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/four-nations-share-gold-in-madrid-stop-of-2017-fina-diving-grand-prix\/","title":{"rendered":"Four Nations Share Gold in Madrid Stop of 2017 FINA Diving Grand Prix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canada, China, Italy and Mexico were the four nations grabbing a gold medal this weekend in the Spanish capital at the fourth leg of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fina.org\/event\/fina-diving-grand-prix-2017\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.fina.org\/event\/fina-diving-grand-prix-2017&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1496161975587000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHYkpdsNIEZ3buNtN_J5TN7uYbgeg\">FINA Diving Grand Prix 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Italy&#8217;s <strong>Giovanni Tocci<\/strong> took gold in the 3m springboard with 419.55 points, defeating experienced diver <strong>Francois Imbeau-Dulac<\/strong> of Canada (417.55) and <strong>Nicolas Garcia<\/strong> (ESP, 375.90).<\/p>\n<p>The latter ranked second in the 3m synchronised event with brother <strong>Hector<\/strong> (384.72), behind the Canadians <strong>Francois Imbeau-Dulac \/ Peter Thach Mai<\/strong> (388.59) but in front of the Swiss <strong>Simon Rieckhoff \/ Guillaume Dutoit<\/strong> (369.90).<\/p>\n<p>Mexico&#8217;s <strong>Randal Willars Valdez<\/strong> was the best in the platform event with 432.30, while teammate <strong>Kevin Berlin Reyes<\/strong> took silver (396.60) and Great Britain&#8217;s <strong>Aidan Heslop<\/strong> bronze (391.15).<\/p>\n<p>Berlin Reyes paired with <strong>Jose Diego Balleza Isaias<\/strong> to win the 10m synchro in 388.50. <strong>Vladimir Harutyunyan \/ Azat Harutyunyan<\/strong> of Armenia came second (371.88) and <strong>Adim Kaptur \/ Artsiom Barouski<\/strong> (BLR, 358.08) completed the podium.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s competition, Canada&#8217;s <strong>Pamela Ware,<\/strong> a three-time Olympian, captured the gold on offer in the 3m, defeating USA&#8217;s <strong>Maria Coburn<\/strong> (295.70) and <strong>Inge Jansen<\/strong> (NED, 295.60).<\/p>\n<p>China then topped both the 10m individual and synchro events with <strong>Zhang Jiaqi<\/strong> (382.72) and <strong>Zhang Minjie<\/strong> who paired with her for the synchronised 10m (347.28). The latter came second in the 10m with 355.70, in front of Canada&#8217;s <strong>Olivia Chamandy<\/strong> (325.55).<\/p>\n<p>Chamandy however was more successful in the 3m synchro with teammate <strong>Mia Vallee<\/strong> as the pair took gold (267.78), followed by duets from the Netherlands (267.00) and Hungary (231.12).<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Prix will next stop in Bolzano (ITA) on\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1258022503\"><span class=\"aQJ\">July 5-7<\/span><\/span>.<br \/>\n<i><br \/>\n<\/i><b>Medallists in Madrid<\/b><i><\/p>\n<p><\/i><b>Men<\/b><br \/>\n<i>3m &#8211;<\/i>\u00a01.
