Mizzou head swimming and diving coach Greg Rhodenbaugh<\/strong> announced the promotions of Andrew Grevers<\/strong> and Mark Gangloff<\/strong> to associate head coaches on Thursday<\/span><\/span>. <\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Grevers, who recently completed his seventh season on the Mizzou staff, serves as the lead sprint coach for the Tigers. In his time in Columbia, the Missouri women own five top 15 NCAA finishes and the Mizzou men have six top 20 finishes, including placements of eighth (2016) and ninth (2017) the last two seasons. Grevers also earned the Mizzou Coach of the Year at the 2015 ROARS.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Under Grevers\u2019 tutelage, Michael Chadwick<\/strong> emerged as one of the nation\u2019s top sprinters and the most decorated swimmer in program history. Chadwick recently concluded his collegiate career with a runner-up finish in the 100 free at the 2017 NCAA Championships, where he became only the fourth swimmer in history to go under 41 seconds in the event.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Grevers also served as a coach at a number of international events, the 2015 FINA World Championships and the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships (25m).<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

In Gangloff\u2019s five seasons as an assistant for the Tigers, the Missouri men finished in the top 16 at the NCAA Championships all five years, with four top 15 placements and two top 10 finishes. Additionally, the Tiger women own four top 14 finishes, including placing a program-record 11th in 2016.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Gangloff has been instrumental in Hannah Steven\u2019s<\/strong> rise among the U.S.\u2019s backstroke group. A rising senior, Stevens is a two-time member of the U.S. National Team and placed third in the 100 back at the 2017 NCAA Championships. In April, Stevens became the 10th-fastest U.S. women\u2019s 100m back performer in history with a 59.40, a time that also ranked her fifth in the world and first in the U.S. in 2017.<\/p>\n

In addition to his vast international swimming experience, including two Olympic gold medals, Gangloff served as an assistant coach for the U.S. men\u2019s team at the 2016 FINA World Championships (25m).<\/p>\n
