In the hopes of creating swimming success at all levels, Tennessee Aquatics is partnering with Knoxville’s West Side YMCA in their capital campaign for a brand new state-of-the-art aquatic facility in Knoxville, Tn.<\/p>\n

According to the press release<\/a> for the campaign, the YMCA, built in 1969, is the most popular Y in East Tennessee. Their mission to improve health and support members of all ages is being halted\u00a0because of their lack of aquatic resources. Credited to inefficiency, the need for a new pool is seen by many.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve known for a long time that we need to expand and this will allow for a higher quality experience for our members,\u201d Marshall Goldman<\/strong>, CEO of Tennessee Aquatics said<\/a>. \u201cThe West Side Y has been open for 50 years and it\u2019s definitely had a lot of Knoxvillians go through its doors, learning to swim and playing in youth sports. Now it\u2019s time to get ready for the next 50 years.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In order to do so, the two organizations are working with architect David Collins<\/strong> to improve the already-existing building and space. According to the release, the new facility will have two pools with the following goals:<\/p>\n
