Two swimmers walked away double winners at the end of the session.<\/p>\n<p>In the first event of the day, Lawrence&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Maddie Dean<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Marian Frick<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Emily Guo<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Megan Drumm\u00a0<\/strong>out touched Wichita East&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katerina Savvides<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Aiden Chan<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Janis Hwang<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Madison Allen\u00a0<\/strong>1:50.31 to 1:50.54 for the 200 medley relay title. L-Free State was third in 1:52.02 with the team of\u00a0<strong>Janet Stefanov<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Avan Cormaney<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Kasey Dunn<\/strong>, and \u00a0<strong>Piper Rogers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>That wasn&#8217;t the only second place relay finish for Wichita East.\u00a0<strong>Astrid Dirkzwager<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Julia Whitfield<\/strong>, Chan, and\u00a0<strong>Hannah Balch\u00a0<\/strong>combined for a 1:41.14 in the 200 freestyle relay. S M-East dominated that relay as\u00a0<strong>Hannah McPhail<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Emma Linscott<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Trinity Legill<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Crissie Blomquist\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:38.01. L-Free State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gracie Caldwell<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Charlotte Crandall<\/strong>, Rogers, and\u00a0<strong>Claire Campbell\u00a0<\/strong>were third (1:41.83).<\/p>\n<p>Wichita East freshman\u00a0Dirkzwager won a tight 200 freestyle, getting to the wall in 1:50.40. S M-East&#8217;s Blomquist was just behind in 1:50.88. Campbell of L-Free State finished third (1:51.77). Dirzwager later topped the 100 backstroke by a solid margin in 55.33.\u00a0<strong>Rachel Lyle\u00a0<\/strong>of Blue Valley (57.67) took home silver and bronze went to Savvides (58.07).<\/p>\n<p>Blomquist rose to the top of the podium in the 500 freestyle as the only swimmer under five minutes with her 4:56.87. Picking up silver was\u00a0<strong>Maci McCullough\u00a0<\/strong>of Wichita-Wast (5:03.78). Lawrence&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Morgan Jones\u00a0<\/strong>(5:06.27) placed third.<\/p>\n<p>Campbell also placed third in the 100 freestyle (51.54). Derby junior\u00a0<strong>Megan Keil<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(51.00) and S M-North&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Joely Merriman\u00a0<\/strong>(51.30) were first and second. Keil made is a sprint double, topping the 50 in 22.91. Merriman was second again with a 23.67. Wichita East&#8217;s Allen (24.18) placed third.<\/p>\n<p>Two swimmers were under a minute in the 100 fly:\u00a0<strong>Hailey Brull\u00a0<\/strong>(56.39) of S M-Northwest and\u00a0<strong>Emma Linscott\u00a0<\/strong>(56.94) of S M-East.<\/p>\n<p>Olathe-North&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anika Lam\u00a0<\/strong>won the 200 IM in 2:05.00. McCullough (2:08.72) and Savvides (2:09.42)\u00a0were second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Blue Valley senior teammates\u00a0<strong>Morgan Hoffman\u00a0<\/strong>(406.00) and\u00a0<strong>Abby Loudenback\u00a0<\/strong>(401.15) were first and second in one meter diving.<\/p>\n<p>Wichita-East finally got their relay victory in the 400 freestyle relay. Allen, Whitfield, Savvides, and Dirkzwanger posted a 3:32.11. S M-East&#8217;s Blomquist, Linscott, McPhail, and\u00a0<strong>Izzy Smith\u00a0<\/strong>(3:33.26) were not far behind.
