NEW BRITAIN, Connecticut, November 13. THE Central Connecticut Swimming and diving team defeated Sacred Heart at home on Saturday afternoon, the Blue Devils improve to 5-2 in dual meets this season. The Blue Devils were led by sophomore Taylor Friedmann who captured a pair of individual victories at the meet.<\/p>\n
The Blue Devils started strong with the team of Alex Czaplicki, Kristina Gulia, Katie Lang and Lauren Shortell winning the 800 medley relay in 8:52.97. Christine Smith than hopped in the water for the Blue Devils and came out victorious in the 1650 free, her time was 18:02.38. it was the first time this season that the Blue Devils had that event in a meet. The next event was the 200 free which Friedmann took in 1:55.98, she later captured the 400 free in 4:02.57.<\/p>\n
Lauren O'Kelly won the 800 IM in 9:44.45, while Helene Neuhaus captured the 100 free in 54.10. Czaplicki captured the 400 backstroke in 4:33.50 to finish of the individual Blue Devil Victories.<\/p>\n
Sacred Heart did not compete in the diving events, but Madison Vestergaard posted a 195.90 in the one-meter board to lead the Blue Devil divers.<\/p>\n
The Blue Devils took the team victory by a final score of 115-83.<\/p>\n
