For more information about Agon, visit their website <a href=\"https:\/\/agonswim.com\/\">AgonSwim.com<\/a>.<\/i><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Six\u00a0meet records fell in prelims of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 Championship meet this morning.<\/p>\n<p>In the opening 200 medley relay the Crean Lutheran team of\u00a0<strong>Eva Merrell<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jimena Martinez<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mandy Brenner<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Elise Garcia\u00a0<\/strong>dominated the competition and took over a second off the meet record their team set in 2015. The quartet stopped the clock in 1:42.22.<\/p>\n<p>Garcia,\u00a0Brenner,\u00a0<strong>Journey Werner<\/strong>, and Merrell combined for a 1:34.89 in the 200 freestyle relay, knocking nearly a half second off the old 1:35.26.<\/p>\n<p>Garcia also took down an individual meet record, posting a 22.71 in the 50 freestyle. That mark was .09 quicker than the 22.80 swum by\u00a0<strong>Gretchen Jacques\u00a0<\/strong>in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Garcia then earned the second seed in the 100 freestyle behind a meet record from Mira Costa&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alexandra Crisera<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Crisera stopped the clock in 49.02.\u00a0<strong>Kenisha Liu\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 49.26 to earn the mark last year. Crisera also went a meet record 53.65 in the 100 backstroke.<\/p>\n<p>Merrell also earned a meet record with a 52.57 in the 100 butterfly, shaving .02 from\u00a0<strong>Alexis Margett<\/strong>&#8216;s 52.59 swum last year. Margett is the second seed entering finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tenny Chong\u00a0<\/strong>swam within\u00a0a half second of\u00a0<strong>Anthony Ervin<\/strong>&#8216;s 1999 meet record (44.11) in the 100 freestyle. Chong posted a 44.59.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liberty Gilbert\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.18) of Chaparral and\u00a0<strong>Taylor Ault\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.63)\u00a0of Sonora both cracked 1:50 in the 200 free. Two men-\u00a0<strong>Andrew Koustik\u00a0<\/strong>of Calvary Christian (1:39.56) and Foothill&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hunter Ingram\u00a0<\/strong>(1:39.80)- were under 1:40 in that event.<\/p>\n<p>The top three men,\u00a0<strong>Ethan Trieu\u00a0<\/strong>(49.70),\u00a0<strong>Ben Blevins-Boor\u00a0<\/strong>(49.73) and\u00a0<strong>Jacob Mullin\u00a0<\/strong>(49.84) all cleared 50 seconds in the 100 backstroke prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Those swimmers will return to the pool tomorrow morning for finals.<\/p>\n<p>Full results available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/cif-southern-section-results-links\/high-school\/2017\/May\/10?rtn=%2Fresults%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agon is the proud sponsor of all high school coverage (recruiting, results, state championships, etc.) on SwimmingWorld.com.
