STANFORD, California, November 5. STANFORD Swimming won eight of the 13 events paced by two wins by diver Meg Hostage and wins by Liz Smith and Kate Dwelley to lead both Michigan and Florida in the tri-meet between the three NCAA teams.<\/p>\n
Hostage began the day by winning both the one and three meter events, scoring a 299.85 in the one-meter and 323.60 in the three-meter.<\/p>\n
Smith and Dwelley both won individual events and were a part of winning relay teams. Smith won the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:13.71 after beginning the day as the second leg of the winning 400 medley relay team (3:42.55).<\/p>\n
Dwelley won the 200 free, leading at the halfway point en route to a time of 1:48.32 and lengthened the Cardinal lead on the anchor leg of the 400 free relay (3:21.81).<\/p>\n
Also winning for the Cardinal was Kelsey Ditto, who took over the lead from teammate Andie Taylor in the 1650 (16:22.45); and Andi Murez in the 100 free (50.33).<\/p>\n
Florida's Elizabeth Beisel won two of the three events for Florida, the 200 IM (1:59.39) and the 200 back (1:54.17). Beisel's backstroke time was a pool record, breaking Stanford's Julia Smit's time of 1:55.66, set in 2008.<\/p>\n
The tri-meet concludes Saturday at 9 a.m. Diving starts at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n
