Over the weekend at the arena Pro Swim Series stop in Atlanta, three Texas A&M swimmers took down Mexican national records. Read about the swims put up by\u00a0Monika Gonzalez-Hermosillo<\/strong>,\u00a0Mauro Castillo<\/strong> and\u00a0Angel Martinez<\/strong> in the press release below.<\/p>\n

Taking down Mexican national records were sophomore Monika Gonzalez-Hermosillo from the Aggie women\u2019s squad and junior Mauro Castillo and sophomore Angel Martinez from the men\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

Gonzalez-Hermosillo, from Mexico City, Mexico, set the Mexican record in the women\u2019s 200-meter IM with a time of 2:14.40 while taking runner-up honors in the race in Atlanta. Castillo, from Zacatecas, Mexico, lowered the men\u2019s 200-meter breaststroke record to 2:12.94 while placing fifth in the race. Martinez, from San Nicol\u00e1s de los Garza, Mexico, took down the men\u2019s 200 IM record with a time of 2:02.31 in the prelims and then placed fourth in the final in 2:02.99.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
