THE second day of short course meter prelims racing is complete at the World Cup stop in Moscow.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 100 free<\/b><br \/>\nDenmark&#39;s Jeanette Ottesen led the way with a 54.28, while Veronika Popova (54.81) and Margarita Nesterova (54.86) finished second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Sweden&#39;s Michelle Coleman (55.11), Natalia Lovtsova (55.23), Anastasia Aksenova (55.23), Svetlana Fedulova (55.31) and Ukraine&#39;s Darya Stepanyuk (55.45) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 200 free<\/b><br \/>\nEvgeny Lagunov jumped to second in the world rankings with a top time of 1:44.03. Only Takeshi Matsuda has been faster this year with a 1:43.93 from Tokyo. Artem Lobuzov took second in 1:46.20, while Mikhail Polishchuk finished third in 1:46.36. <\/p>\n<p>Poland&#39;s Pawel Korzeniowski (1:46.86), Alexander Sukhorukov (1:46.99), Danila Izotov (1:47.03), Andrey Ushakov (1:47.63) and Vitaly Syrnikov (1:47.84) made up the rest of the finale.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 50 breast<\/b><br \/>\nYuliya Efimova ripped off a 30.36, just short of her top-ranked season best of 30.16 from Berlin. Valentina Artemyeva claimed second overall in 31.42, while Germany&#39;s Kerstin Vogel placed third in 31.57. <\/p>\n<p>Ekaterina Baklakova (31.60), Daria Deeva (31.61), Ekaterina Burdina (32.07), Anna Kuzmicheva (32.11) and Natalia Geraskina (32.19) picked up the other transfer spots to finals.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 100 breast<\/b><br \/>\nAleksandr Triznov (59.63), Stanislav Lakhtyukhov (59.64), Maksim Shcherbakov (59.84) and Ukraine&#39;s Andriy Kovalenko (59.86) cleared 1:00 for the top four spots.<\/p>\n<p>Mikhail Lapshin (1:00.01), Grigory Falko (1:00.12), Brazil&#39;s Joao Gomes Jr. (1:00.17) and Brazil&#39;s Raphael Rodrigues (1:00.24) earned fourth through eighth.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 100 fly<\/b><br \/>\nNikolay Skvortsov (52.69), Nikita Konovalov (52.78) and Evgeny Korotyshkin (52.82) made up the top three in prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Germany&#39;s Steffen Deibler (52.93), South Africa&#39;s Lyndon Ferns (52.98), Ivan Udalov (53.23), Alexander Spiridonov (53.45) and Alexander Vorobyev (53.49) grabbed the rest of the championship field spots.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 100 back<\/b><br \/>\nKseniya Moskvina touched out Ukraine&#39;s Daryna Zevina, 59.60 to 59.63, for the top seed. Japan&#39;s Marie Kamimura (59.77) and Maria Gromova (59.96) all cleared 1:00 for the top four.<\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwe&#39;s Kirsty Coventry (1:00.06), Japan&#39;s Mai Harada (1:00.50), Anastasia Zueva (1:00.60) and Alexandra Papusha (1:00.85) also made the championship final.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 50 back<\/b><br \/>\nVitaly Borisov topped prelims in 23.98, while Stanislav Donets (24.07), Arkady Vyatchanin (24.44) and Sergey Makov (24.45) rounded out the top four.<\/p>\n<p>Artem Dubovskoy (24.55), Mikhail Noskov (24.82), Anton Butymov (24.89) and Germany&#39;s Christian Diener (25.10) earned the other lanes in the finale.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 200 fly<\/b><br \/>\nUSA&#39;s Elaine Breeden (2:10.63) and Jasmine Tosky (2:11.16) went 1-2 in qualifying with South Africa&#39;s Mandy Loots (2:11.24) and Anastasia Lyazeva (2:13.40) earned third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Anna Kiseleva (2:13.49), Ukraine&#39;s Anna Yevchak (2:13.51), Daria Shmakova (2:15.27) and USA&#39;s Celina Li (2:15.66) pocketed the other championship heat lanes.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 200 IM<\/b><br \/>\nDmitry Zhilin (1:59.06) and Alexander Tikhonov (1:59.46) finished first and second with Dmitry Gorbunov (2:00.32) and China&#39;s Sun Han (2:00.44) taking third and fourth in qualifying.<\/p>\n<p>Sergey Kashperskiy (2:00.61), Maxim Redkov (2:01.17) and Brazil&#39;s Thiago Pereira (2:01.56) touched fifth through seventh.  South Africa&#39;s Darian Townsend and Ivan Pavlov set up a swimoff with matching 2:01.60s for eighth place.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 400 free<\/b><br \/>\nElena Sokolova earned the top seed with a 4:11.56, while Ukraine&#39;s Valeriya Podlisna touched second in 4:12.85. Alexandra Veselova (4:13.94) and Elizaveta Gorshkova (4:15.18) placed third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>USA&#39;s Catherine Breed (4:17.13), Anna Guseva (4:17.48), Regina Sych (4:17.97) and USA&#39;s Allison Brown (4:19.07) also made the championship field.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 50 free<\/b><br \/>\nEvgeny Lagunov checked in with a 21.75 for the top seed, while Sergey Fesikov placed second in 21.77. Nikita Konovalov (21.88), Vitaly Syrnikov (22.08) and Andrey Arbuzov (22.39) placed third through fifth for Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Ukraine&#39;s Andriy Govorov (22.40) and Albert Maltsev (22.41) earned sixth and seventh. South Africa&#39;s Roland Schoeman and Oleg Tikhobaev set up another swimoff with matching 22.48s.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 200 breast<\/b><br \/>\nJapan&#39;s Keiko Fukudome paced prelims with a time of 2:25.18, while Vitalina Simonova (2:27.15) and Olga Detenyuk (2:27.93) took second and third.<\/p>\n<p>Ekaterina Vinokurova (2:28.06), Valentina Artemyeva (2:28.69) and Anastasia Chaun (2:28.93) placed fourth through sixth. Japan&#39;s Kanako Watanabe (2:29.59) and Ekaterina Baklakova (2:29.95) qualified seventh and eighth.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 100 IM<\/b><br \/>\nUSA&#39;s Julia Smit finished first in the sprint medley with a 1:01.14, while The Netherlands&#39; Hinkelien Schreuder earned second in 1:01.75. Daria Belyakina (1:02.19), Kristina Kochetkova (1:02.48) and Ekaterina Andreeva (1:02.60) claimed third through fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Aleksandra Musienko (1:02.83), USA&#39;s Jasmine Tosky (1:02.86) and Polina Kiseleva (1:03.01) also made the finale.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 200 back<\/b><br \/>\nArkady Vyatchanin (1:54.36) and Anton Anchin (1:54.73) posted 1:54s for first and second. Poland&#39;s Radoslaw Kawecki (1:55.00) and Artem Dubovskoy (1:55.21) took third and fourth in prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#39;s Kosuke Hagino (1:55.27), Colombia&#39;s Omar Pinzon (1:55.82), South Africa&#39;s George Du Rand (1:55.99) and Germany&#39;s Christian Diener (1:57.96) finished fifth through eighth.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 50 fly<\/b><br \/>\nSweden&#39;s Therese Alshammar (26.15) and Denmark&#39;s Jeanette Ottesen (26.20) finished first and second.
