Ledecky earned the top seed in both the women&#8217;s 200-meter freestyle and the 400-meter IM, while Manuel nabbed the fourth place qualifying spot in the 200 and the first spot in the 50-meter freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>Litherland just squeezed in to the top 8 of the men&#8217;s 200-meter backstroke, and he\u00a0sits in the top spot for the men&#8217;s 400-meter IM ahead of Georgia teammate <strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong>, who holds the third seed heading into finals tonight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong> is one to watch in the men&#8217;s 200-meter backstroke, as he sits in fourth place heading into finals\u00a0but is within a second and a half of <strong>Jacob Pebley<\/strong>&#8216;s first-seed time.<\/p>\n<p>Olympic gold medalist <strong>Anthony Ervin<\/strong> just missed the A-final for the men&#8217;s 50-meter freestyle by 0.02, while\u00a0youngster<strong> Michael Andrew<\/strong>\u00a0holds the top seed in the event with a 22.77.<\/p>\n<p>Read below for full event-by-event coverage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/results\/pdf\/2017-arena-pro-swim-series-atlanta-day-3-prelims-day-3-usa-senior-national-2017-05-04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Full results<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 free<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong> managed to stay ahead of a packed field in the women&#8217;s 200-meter freestyle, qualifying\u00a0first in 1:56.97. Close behind was Saint Petersburg Aquatics&#8217; <strong>Melanie Margalis<\/strong>\u00a0with a time of 1:57.69, a five second drop from her swim at Mesa. South Korea&#8217;s <strong>Tae\u00a0Hwan Park<\/strong> continued his stellar meet with a 1:48.24 to finish as the top seed. Cardinal Aquatics&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Joao De Lucca<\/strong>, second-place finisher at Mesa, took the number two spot with his time of 1:49.07. Again, he was the only qualifier under 2:00.00, as second-place seed <strong>Christian Diener<\/strong> swimming for\u00a0Germany touched in 2:00.24. Third-place seed went to <strong>Sean Lehane<\/strong> of Academy Bullets Swim Club with a 2:00.65.<\/p>\n<p>Olympic gold medalist <strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong> touched close behind in the fourth qualifying spot with a time of 2:00.83. As Canada&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Penny Oleksiak<\/strong>\u00a0has scratched the entire meet, second seed went to <strong>Michelle Toro<\/strong> of Hpc Ontario with a 25.52. <strong>Madison Kennedy<\/strong>, competing\u00a0with SwimMAC Carolina, grabbed the third qualifying spot with a 25.57.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth seed went to<strong> Olivia Smoliga<\/strong> in 25.61, just 0.01 ahead of fifth seed<strong> Mallory Comerford<\/strong>, coming off of a red-hot NCAA performance. <strong>Kelsi Worrell<\/strong> took the sixth qualifying spot in 25.77, while Ariola snuck into seventh seed with a 25.82.
