ONCE again, recruiting season has been busy in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings system.  Plenty of five-star swimmers from the Class of 2011 made their college choices, including several going to California.<\/p>\n<p>Five star Skylar Smith, who maintains her <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=8666 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings, is an all-around swimmer who will be headed to the University of Texas.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I chose Texas because it was a perfect fit for me,&quot; Smith told <i>Swimming World<\/i>. &quot;I absolutely loved everything about Texas. While on my visit, I got to watch practice and I know the program will work for me. I felt like I fit in very well with the girls and coaches. There is such a positive atmosphere. I have no doubt Texas is where I want to be for my college years as an athlete and a student. I can&#39;t wait to be a Texas Longhorn!  Hook&#39;em Horns!&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Smith swims for the First Colony Swim Team and preps at Foster High. She has four long course senior national cuts to her credit: 50m free 26.59; 100m breast 1:11.20; 200m breast 2:35.91; 200m IM 2:18.63.<\/p>\n<p>California scored plenty of commitments recently with a strong Class of 2011 en route. <\/p>\n<p>Five star Eva Greene, who maintains her <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=9201 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings, is a backstroker who will be headed to the University of California.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I chose Cal for so many reasons,&quot; Greene told <i>Swimming World<\/i>. &quot;I love the school, the area, the coaches, and especially the girls. Teri [McKeever] and Kristen [Cunnane] are amazing people, and I can&#39;t wait to be a part of such a hard-working, dedicated, and fun team with an outstanding tradition!&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Greene swims for Machine Aquatics and preps at McLean.  She has a pair of long course senior national cuts: 100m back 1:04.09; 200m back 2:17.23.   <\/p>\n<p>Five star Casey Mims, who maintains her <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=6136 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings, is a breaststroker who will be headed to the University of California.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I chose Cal for several reasons: Teri McKeever&#39;s innovative program&#8211; it&#39;s a good fit for me; I love the coaches and the team and the emphasis on excellence both in and out of the pool,&quot; Mims told <i>Swimming World<\/i>. &quot;Cal&#39;s academics are top.  I also loved the bay area!&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Mims swims for the Irvine Aquazots and preps at JSerra Catholic High.  She owns a pair of long course senior national cuts: 100m breast 1:11.51; 200m breast 2:30.52.<\/p>\n<p>Five star Taylor Nanfria, who maintains her <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=8299 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings, is a distance specialist who will also be headed to the University of California.<\/p>\n<p>Nanfria swims for Crow Canyon Country Club and preps at San Ramon Valley High.  She owns three long course senior national cuts: 400m free 4:18.18; 200m fly 2:16.01; 400m IM 4:52.55.   <\/p>\n<p>Five star Kevin Cordes, who maintains his <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=7959 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings, is a breaststroker who will be headed to the University of Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Arizona was the best fit for me, I loved everything about it when I visited,&quot; Cordes told <i>Swimming World<\/i>. &quot;The team was great, and I feel that Frank [Busch], and the coaching staff can help me accomplish my goals. Oh, and the weather isn&#39;t too bad either.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Cordes swims for the Fox Valley Swim Club and preps at Neuqua Valley. He has two long course senior national cuts: 100m breast 1:02.26; 200m breast 2:15.60.<\/p>\n<p>Five star Clay Youngquist, who maintains his <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=8548 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings, is a distance specialist who will be headed to the University of Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Youngquist swims for Lakeview Aquatics and preps at Battle Creek Lakeview.  He is an immediate scoring threat with a B final qualifying time of 4:19.49 in the 500-yard free.<\/p>\n<p>Five star Madeline Locus, who maintains her <a href=http:\/\/www.takeyourmarks.com\/swm661?id=8603 target=_blank>profile<\/a> in the <i>Swimming World<\/i> College Recruit Rankings, is a sprinter who will be headed to the University of Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Locus swims for the First Colony Swim Team and preps at Dulles High.
