In September, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/now-retired-kirsty-coventry-set-for-new-role-with-international-surfing-association\/\" target=\"_blank\">joined the World Surfing Association as Vice President<\/a>, and now she&#8217;s in the running to be\u00a0Vice President position of the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Running against Zimbabwe Volleyball Association President\u00a0<strong>Federick Ndlovu<\/strong>, Soccer League President\u00a0<strong>Martin Kweza<\/strong> and incumbent VP\u00a0<strong>Thabani Gonye<\/strong>, Coventry is considered the favorite for the position, according to a report from AllAfrica.com.<\/p>\n<p>Coventry swam in each Olympic Games from 2000 to 2016 and won seven Olympic medals, including gold in the 200 back in 2004 and 2008. She broke the world record in that event three times and was the first woman to swim under both 2:06 and 2:05.
