She won the solo technical (92.2446 points) and solo free competitions (93.6667 points) for a total score of 185.9113 points. <strong>Yukiko Inui<\/strong> of Japan took silver (91.0121\/91.9000) while Canada&#8217;s <strong>Jacqueline Simoneau<\/strong> took bronze (88.7567\/90.6767).<\/p>\n<p>Inui teamed up with <strong>Mai Nakamura<\/strong> to win the duet technical and duet free competition with 90.4721 and 92.6333 points, respectively. Likewise, Simoneau paired with <strong>Karine Thomas<\/strong> to earn silver with 88.345 and 89.6000 points. <strong>Evangelia Papazpglou<\/strong> and <strong>Evangelia Platanioti<\/strong> of Greece took the bronze with 85.8946 and 87.7333 points.<\/p>\n<p>Inui was a part of the bronze-medal duet from the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. She and <strong>Risako Mitsui<\/strong> were beaten by Russian and Chinese pairs who were not present at this competition. Inui and Nakamura&#8217;s score in Tokyo of 183.1054 is off the team&#8217;s\u00a0188.0547 from Rio. Japan is also the bronze-medal team from Rio, where they fell to the same two teams.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s <strong>Atsushi Abe<\/strong> and <strong>Yumo Adachi<\/strong> were the only competitors in the Mixed Duet competition, and came out with a technical score of 83.0235 and a free score of 85.3667.<\/p>\n<p>In the team competition, Japan took home the gold followed by Mexico and Kazakhstan. In the free, technical and combination components, Japan scored 91.5684, 91.5684 and 93.1667 points, over five full points ahead of the closest competitor in each.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 FINA Synchro Swimming World Series has seven stops, with Toronto, Canada (May 2-7), Las Palmas, Spain (May 25-28), Long Island, New York, USA (June 22-24) and Tashkent,\u00a0Uzbekistan (September 21-24) still remaining.<\/p>\n<p><em>Press release courtesy of FINA<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The third stop of the 2017 FINA Synchro Swimming World Series featured Rio medallists along with\u00a0a number of other\u00a0talented entrants as well;
