THE second day of short course meter prelim action is underway at the World Cup stop in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 100 free<\/b><br \/>\nAustralia&#39;s Kotuku Ngawati topped prelims with a 54.58, while The Netherlands&#39; Hinkelien Schreuder earned second in 54.88. Australia&#39;s Marieke Guehrer (54.90) and Brazil&#39;s Tatiana Lemos-Barbosa (55.88) took third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Finland&#39;s Hanna-Maria Seppala (55.96), USA&#39;s Madison Kennedy (56.14), China&#39;s Zhang Jiaqi (56.41) and China&#39;s Zheng Yifei (56.50) rounded out the top eight.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 200 free<\/b><br \/>\nSouth Africa&#39;s Darian Townsend touched out Australia&#39;s Kyle Richardson, 1:47.64 to 1:47.79, for the top seed. Canada&#39;s Brian Johns (1:48.09) and Switzerland&#39;s Dominik Meichtry (1:48.22) placed third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#39;s Mikhail Polishchuk (1:48.34), Australia&#39;s Shane Asbury (1:48.55), New Zealand&#39;s Michael Jack (1:48.70) and Switzerland&#39;s Alexandre Liess (1:49.05) also made up the rest of the finale.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 50 breast<\/b><br \/>\nUSA&#39;s Jessica Hardy and Germany&#39;s Dorothea Brandt posted matching 31.49s for the top seeds in the sprint breast. Sweden&#39;s Jennie Johansson (31.55) and Germany&#39;s Kerstin Vogel (31.67) also cleared 32 seconds for third and fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#39;s Nanaka Tamura (32.29), South Africa&#39;s Ronwyn Roper (34.39), Singapore&#39;s Cheryl Lim (34.41) and Singapore&#39;s Natasha Lin Low (34.46) snared the last four transfer spots into finals.<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 100 breast<\/b><br \/>\nJapan&#39;s Kazuki Otsuka grabbed the top seed with a 1:01.06, while Russia&#39;s Grigory Falko (1:01.21), South Africa&#39;s Cameron van der Burgh (1:01.50) and Japan&#39;s Naoya Tomita (1:01.65) also cleared 1:02 to place second through fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore&#39;s Lionel Khoo (1:02.62), Indonesia&#39;s Nicko Biondi (1:02.74), Singapore&#39;s Kenneth Lim (1:02.77) and Singapore&#39;s Mark Tan (1:03.03) picked up the rest of the championship spots.<\/p>\n<p><b>Women&#39;s 400 IM slow heat<\/b><br \/>\nTwo swimmers from Singapore swam in the slow heat: Ting Ting Koh (5:05.86), Marina Chan (5:07.48).<\/p>\n<p><b>Men&#39;s 100 fly<\/b><br \/>\nSwitzerland&#39;s Nico Van Duijn posted the top time in prelims with a 53.81, while Sweden&#39;s Lars Frolander touched second in 54.13.
