NASHVILLE, Tennessee, October 15. THE Razorbacks swimming and diving team pushed its record to 3-0 as the Hogs beat Vanderbilt 194-43 in Nashville, Tenn., on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n
In the first event, Arkansas 200-medley relay group topped the competition with Vance, O'Grady, Milborn and Sutton placed first with a time of 1:48.51. Arkansas took second and third in the event as well. Sophomore Sigrun Sverrisdottir earned her first win of the season when she finished first in the 1000 freestyle. She was nearly a whole lap ahead of her competition with a team-best time of 10:12.03 this season. She came back to win her second race of the day in the 500 freestyle when she stopped the clock in 4:58.06.<\/p>\n
"We had some fantastic swims today which included several lifetime best performances," head coach Jeff Poppell said. "That's a little unusual for this time of year so we definitely feel we are starting off this season in a good place. I felt like the girls did a very good job improving the little things from last week to this week."<\/p>\n
Arkansas 200 freestyle relay group finished first with a time of 1:39.57. Also picking up first-place finishes was Erica Totten in the 200 breaststroke. She stopped the clock in 2:24.24 and Liz Braun in the 200 back with a time of 2:03.70.<\/p>\n
In the one-meter dive, Liana Bugslag earned a zone qualifying mark of 269.55. She is the second Razorback to qualify as Kesha Naylor qualified in the one and three-meter events last week.<\/p>\n
Arkansas meets Tennessee in Knoxville, Saturday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n
