THE William and Mary Tribe women&#8217;s swimming and diving team fell to the defending CAA champion Towson Tigers in the season opener on Saturday, 205-93. With the loss, the Tribe falls to 0-1 overall and in the CAA, while Towson moves to 1-0 on the season and in the conference. <\/p>\n<p>The Tribe&#8217;s effort on Saturday was highlighted by junior Hailey Hewitt, who won a pair of individual events. Hewitt captured the 100 back with a time of 59.27 and then touched the wall first in the 200 back in a time of 2:03.88. <\/p>\n<p>Also scoring an individual event victory on the day was freshman Sara Shaner. Shaner won the 50 free for the College, touching in a time of 24.58. <\/p>\n<p>The William and Mary Tribe women&#8217;s swimming and diving team will next be in action on Saturday, October 16 when the College travels to face Mary Washington and Howard.
