{"id":252089,"date":"2017-04-16T08:32:15","date_gmt":"2017-04-16T15:32:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=252089"},"modified":"2017-04-17T07:31:23","modified_gmt":"2017-04-17T14:31:23","slug":"li-bingjie-and-li-zhuhao-win-again-at-chinese-nationals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/li-bingjie-and-li-zhuhao-win-again-at-chinese-nationals\/","title":{"rendered":"Li Bingjie and Li Zhuhao Win Again at Chinese Nationals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>15-year-old distance phenom\u00a0<strong>Li Bingjie\u00a0<\/strong>and butterflyer\u00a0<strong>Li Zhuhao<\/strong> have been among the stars of the Chinese national championships in Quindao, and each picked up another win on the penultimate day.<\/p>\n<p>Li Bingjie won the women&#8217;s 800 free in 8:20.89, moving all the way up to No. 2 in the world behind\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Zhang Yuhan\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 8:24.18, and third went to\u00a0<strong>Bi Wenxin<\/strong> in 8:24.77. <strong>Hou Yawen\u00a0<\/strong>was just behind in 8:25.19.\u00a0Those times rank fourth, fifth\u00a0and sixth in the world, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Li Zhuhao completed the men&#8217;s butterfly sweep, winning the 100 fly in 51.63. He&#8217;s actually been as fast as 51.34 this year, ranking No. 2 in the world.\u00a0<strong>Zhang Zhibin\u00a0<\/strong>took second in 52.57, just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Zhou Jiawei\u00a0<\/strong>(52.60).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lu Ying\u00a0<\/strong>posted the fourth-fastest time in the world to win the women&#8217;s 50 fly, touching in 25.85. She was followed by\u00a0<strong>Zhang Yifei\u00a0<\/strong>(26.09) and\u00a0<strong>Lin Xintong\u00a0<\/strong>(26.52).<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 50 free final,\u00a0<strong>Yu Hexin<\/strong> edged out\u00a0<strong>Lin Yongqing<\/strong>, 22.46 to 22.52, and in the women&#8217;s 200 back,\u00a0<strong>Chen Jie\u00a0<\/strong>took the win in 2:09.29, ahead of\u00a0<strong>Liu Yaxin\u00a0<\/strong>in 2:09.69.\u00a0<strong>Ye Shiwen<\/strong>, the 2012 Olympic gold medalist in both IMs, took third in 2:10.55.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Xu Jiayu<\/strong>, coming off extremely impressive efforts in both the 100 and 200 back, led the way into the championship final of the 50 back with his mark of 24.42, moving a tenth ahead of\u00a0<strong>Evgeny Rylov\u00a0<\/strong>for the top spot in the world rankings. The time also set a new Chinese record in the event.\u00a0<strong>Li Quangyuan\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 25.45, and the third seed went to\u00a0<strong>Zhou Yibing\u00a0<\/strong>in 25.88.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Su Ran<\/strong> took the top spot out of the women&#8217;s 50 breast semifinals in 31.17, while\u00a0<strong>Shi Jinglin<\/strong> edged\u00a0<strong>Liu Xiaoyu\u00a0<\/strong>for second, 31.63 to 31.64.\u00a0<strong>Liu Xiang\u00a0<\/strong>finished two tenths ahead of the field in the women&#8217;s 50 free, clocking 24.82.
