Highlighting the competition will be five-time Olympic gold medalist\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky<\/strong>, slated to swim as the top seed in back-to-back women&#8217;s championship finals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/mesa-pss-day-two-finals-heat-sheet.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to view the full heat sheet.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 400 IM moves from last on the morning schedule to first at night, leaving Ledecky with a quick turnaround between her two races.<\/p>\n<p>Other top seeds include\u00a0<strong>Josh Prenot\u00a0<\/strong>in the men&#8217;s 400 IM,\u00a0<strong>Dylan Carter\u00a0<\/strong>in the men&#8217;s 200 free,\u00a0<strong>Eva Merrell\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Jacob Pebley\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 back and\u00a0<strong>Simone Manuel\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Ari-Pekka Liukkonen<\/strong> in the 50 free.<\/p>\n<p>Ledecky and <strong>Melanie Margalis\u00a0<\/strong>are going for the 400 IM-200 free double, but both\u00a0<strong>Madisyn Cox\u00a0<\/strong>(eighth) and\u00a0<strong>Ella Eastin\u00a0<\/strong>(ninth) scratched the 200 free to focus on the IM.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Olympic gold medalist\u00a0<strong>Matt Grevers\u00a0<\/strong>pulled out of the C-final of the 50 free but will compete in the 100 back on day three.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sierra Schmidt\u00a0<\/strong>did not compete in the morning prelims, and she will be out for the remainder of the meet after twisting her ankle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>USA Swimming has posted the heat sheets for the second night of finals at the arena Pro Swim Mesa.
