But she figures to have some strong competition in the evening finals, and also competing in championship heats will be\u00a0<strong>Nathan Adrian<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Simone Manuel<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Chase Kalisz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Read below for full coverage of the morning&#8217;s events.<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Stanford&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Katie Ledecky\u00a0<\/strong>pulled away from teammate\u00a0<strong>Simone Manuel\u00a0<\/strong>in the final heat of the women&#8217;s 200 free and earn the top qualifying mark for the evening final. Ledecky touched in 1:57.63, putting her 13th in the world rankings for 2017. She qualified almost a full second ahead of Virginia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Leah Smith<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Smith came in second at 1:58.57, and the third seed went to Manuel in 1:59.44. St. Petersburg&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Melanie Margalis\u00a0<\/strong>also got under 2:00, finishing in 1:59.66.<\/p>\n<p>Louisville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mallory Comerford\u00a0<\/strong>was fifth in 2:00.41, and she was followed by another Stanford swimmer,\u00a0<strong>Katie Drabot\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.53). He was well ahead of Academy Bullets&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Sean Lehane\u00a0<\/strong>(2:00.57) and New York Athletic Club&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Arkady Vyatchanin<\/strong> (2:00.59), who finished second and third, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Auburn&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Peter Fredricksson<\/strong> took fourth in 2:00.72, and FAST&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Omar Pinzon<\/strong> was well back in fifth in 2:04.37. After winning the 100 free on day one, she qualified first in the 50 free in 25.34.\u00a0SwimMAC&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Madison Kennedy\u00a0<\/strong>qualified second in 25.46, and Stanford&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lia Neal\u00a0<\/strong>came in third at 25.62.<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Gabrielle Fa&#8217;amausili<\/strong> and Cardinal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kelsi Worrell\u00a0<\/strong>tied for fourth in 25.69, ahead of Brazil&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Etiene Medeiros\u00a0<\/strong>(25.72), Louisville&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mallory Comerford\u00a0<\/strong>(25.80) and Canyons&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Amanda Kendall<\/strong> (25.81).<\/p>\n<p>Notably, Cal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Dana Vollmer\u00a0<\/strong>finished 55th in 27.59. She touched in 4:42.33, well ahead of the previous top time of 4:42.92 recorded by Neptune Natation&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mary-Sophie Harvey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Harvey ended up qualifying second in 4:42.92, followed by Margalis (4:43.34) and Eastin\u00a0(4:43.72).
