He won bronze in the 200 IM at both the 2015 World Championships and 2016 Olympics, and Americans\u00a0<strong>Michael Phelps\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Lochte\u00a0<\/strong>will both be absent at this summer&#8217;s World Champs in Budapest. Wang looks like the biggest challenger to\u00a0<strong>Kosuke Hagino<\/strong> for a world title in the event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tan Haiyang\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 1:57.54, the second-fastest time in the world this year, and\u00a0<strong>Mao Feilian\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 1:59.87.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 50 back,\u00a0<strong>Fu Yuanhui<\/strong> ascended to the top of the world rankings with her time of 27.36. In fact, the top three finishers all surpassed what had previously been the top time in the world,\u00a0<strong>Holly Barratt&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>27.60.\u00a0<strong>Wang Xueer\u00a0<\/strong>took second in 27.55, 0.01 ahead of\u00a0<strong>Liu Xiang\u00a0<\/strong>(27.56).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sun Yang<\/strong>, already the winner of the 200, 400 and 800 free events in Quindao, won the 100 free in 49.27. He was followed by\u00a0<strong>Yu Hexin\u00a0<\/strong>(49.36),\u00a0<strong>Lin Yongqing\u00a0<\/strong>(49.45) and\u00a0<strong>Cao Jiwen\u00a0<\/strong>(49.47) to firm up China&#8217;s 400 free relay for the World Champs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zhou Yilin\u00a0<\/strong>improved to fourth in the world in winning the women&#8217;s 200 fly, touching in 2:07.36, while runner-up\u00a0<strong>L<\/strong><strong>i Shuang\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 2:09.14.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/results\/2017-chinese-nationals\/international-elite\/2017\/April\/10\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Click here to view live results (in Chinese).<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Day four at the Chinese national championships in Quindao featured a pair of world No. 1-ranked times, both coming courtesy of Olympic bronze medalists from last summer in Rio.
