Day one saw five Olympians compete for national titles with Dorman, Hixon, Parratto,<strong> Amy Cozad-Maga\u00f1a <\/strong>and <strong>Katrina Young<\/strong> all in action. Both championship duos secured spots in their respective events at the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, <span data-term=\"goog_1158344920\">July 14<\/span>&#8211;<span data-term=\"goog_1158344921\">22<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Dorman and Hixon dominated the men\u2019s 3-meter field with 809.31 points, including a score of 86.70 on an inward 3\u00bd somersault tuck. The pair scored 79.00 or more points on three of their dives in the final. The second-place team of <strong>Lyle Yost<\/strong> and <strong>Noah Duperre<\/strong> manufactured a score of 643.53, while third-place finishers <strong>Jacob Fielding<\/strong> and Yost collected 641.58 points. Dorman and Hixon will represent Team USA at the 2017 FINA World Championships in the synchronized 3-meter event. The duo won silver together on 3-meter at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>Parratto and Gilliland won a talent-loaded women\u2019s 10-meter final, posting a score of 609.06 with Cozad-Maga\u00f1a and Young coming in second with 568.86 points. <strong>Sophia McAfee<\/strong> and <strong>Olivia Rosendahl<\/strong> took third at 454.14 and <strong>Christy Cutshaw<\/strong> and <strong>Emily Bretscher<\/strong> claimed fourth with 428.73 points. The meet marked the first time Parratto and Gilliland have competed together as partners. Like Dorman and Hixon, the two solidified their spot at the 2017 FINA World Championships this summer.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 USA Diving Synchronized National Championships continue through <span data-term=\"goog_1158344922\">April 15<\/span> at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech, the same pool that hosted aquatic events at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games. <span data-term=\"goog_1158344923\">Tomorrow\u2019s<\/span> events begin at <span data-term=\"goog_1158344924\">9:00 a.m. ET<\/span> and include the women\u2019s 3-meter, men\u2019s 10-meter, boy\u2019s 13&amp;U 3-meter and the girl\u2019s 13&amp;U 1-meter.
