The first major competition for Team USA since the 2016 Olympic Games is anchored by Olympians\u00a0<strong>Alex Obert<\/strong>\u00a0(Loomis, CA\/Pacific\/NYAC) and\u00a0<strong>Alex Roelse<\/strong>\u00a0(Maarssen, Netherlands\/UCLA\/Bruin). 2013 FINA World Championship participant <strong>Matt De Trane<\/strong> (Moraga, CA\/Pepperdine\/CC United) and 2014 FINA World Cup participant <strong>Nolan McConnell<\/strong> (Laguna Beach, CA\/Long Beach St.\/SET) add to a roster featuring some of the top talent in the college and high school game including\u00a0<strong>Nic Carniglia<\/strong>\u00a0(Lodi, CA\/California\/Cal Bears WP) who has trained extensively with Team USA.<\/p>\n<p>With the competition taking place during the collegiate academic year certain USA athletes are not available to take part in this event. Team USA opens play on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_853545424\"><span class=\"aQJ\">April 25<\/span><\/span> against Japan at <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_853545425\"><span class=\"aQJ\">2:50am<\/span><\/span> eastern time. They will also take on Kazakhstan, China, Australia and New Zealand before the final day of action on <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_853545426\"><span class=\"aQJ\">April 30<\/span><\/span>. Gold Coast, Australia is 14 hours ahead of eastern time and 17 hours ahead of pacific time.<\/p>\n<p>Coach Udovicic will be joined by Pomona-Pitzer Head Coach\u00a0<strong>Alex Rodriguez<\/strong>\u00a0and newly named Washington &amp; Jefferson Head Coach Nikola Malezanov as assistant coaches.
